Travel Awards
We have made 5 new travel awards this year and it is great to be able to contribute to sending scientists to their conferences of choice. We have sent our regrets to a number of applicants too, which is hard to do but we do our best to apply the awards fairly, across all of the institutions that we deal with and across a broad a range of topics as possible. We have two more travel awards available, which we need to award before the end of February, so if you would like to find out more details, please check our website (http://www.whitesci.co.za/about.htm) or contact Shirley Ferris at Shirley@whitesci.co.za.

Whitehead has also given a number of other awards and prizes over  the course of the year including a monetary award for post graduate students from the department of molecular and cell biology at UCT for publishing a paper in an international journal. We have also supported an Honors student  prize at the department of Biochemistry at the University of Stellenbosch. Our policy is to try and support funding at the post graduate level, so if you do have an idea for your own departments please do contact us. We can’t promise to say yes every time but we will consider each request on its merits.
