The VIASURE BK+JC Virus Real Time PCR Detection Kit is a qualitative real-time PCR assay developed by Certest Biotec for the detection of BK Polyomavirus (BKPyV) and JC Polyomavirus (JCPyV) in clinical specimens. The kit is designed for the molecular diagnosis of serious complications in immunocompromised patients; BKPyV causes haemorrhagic cystitis and nephropathy in transplant recipients, while JCPyV causes progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML).
Each reaction well contains a complete lyophilised master mix including all primers, probes, and an internal control (IC) to monitor PCR inhibition — eliminating the need for separate reagent preparation. The kit is compatible with leading open-system real-time PCR thermal cyclers and uses the same thermal protocol across the VIASURE range, simplifying workflow in multi-assay laboratories.
Intended use: Detection of BK Polyomavirus (BKPyV) and JC Polyomavirus (JCPyV) from urine, plasma, and cerebrospinal fluid specimens.
