The VIASURE Human Herpes Virus 6, 7 & 8 Real Time PCR Detection Kit is a qualitative real-time PCR assay developed by Certest Biotec for the detection of Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6), HHV-7, and HHV-8 (Kaposi Sarcoma Herpesvirus) in clinical specimens. The kit is designed for the molecular diagnosis of roseola infantum (HHV-6), febrile illness (HHV-7), and Kaposi sarcoma and other malignancies (HHV-8); all cause serious complications in immunocompromised patients.
Each reaction well contains a complete lyophilised master mix including all primers, probes, and an internal control (IC) to monitor PCR inhibition — eliminating the need for separate reagent preparation. The kit is compatible with leading open-system real-time PCR thermal cyclers and uses the same thermal protocol across the VIASURE range, simplifying workflow in multi-assay laboratories.
Intended use: Detection of Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6), HHV-7, and HHV-8 (Kaposi Sarcoma Herpesvirus) from whole blood, plasma, CSF, and tissue specimens.
