The VIASURE Norovirus GI+GII Real Time PCR Detection Kit is a qualitative real-time PCR assay developed by Certest Biotec for the detection of Norovirus Genogroups I (GI) and II (GII) in clinical specimens. The kit is designed for the molecular diagnosis of acute viral gastroenteritis; GII (particularly GII.4 variants) is the dominant genogroup globally, but GI is commonly implicated in shellfish-associated outbreaks.
Each reaction well contains a complete lyophilised master mix including all primers, probes, and an internal control (IC) to monitor PCR inhibition — eliminating the need for separate reagent preparation. The kit is compatible with leading open-system real-time PCR thermal cyclers and uses the same thermal protocol across the VIASURE range, simplifying workflow in multi-assay laboratories.
Intended use: Detection of Norovirus Genogroups I (GI) and II (GII) from stool specimens and rectal swabs.
