The VIASURE Vancomycin resistance Real Time PCR Detection Kit is a qualitative real-time PCR assay developed by Certest Biotec for the detection of Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE), carrying vanA and/or vanB resistance genes in clinical specimens. The kit is designed for the molecular diagnosis of VRE infections including urinary tract infections, bacteraemia, and endocarditis; VRE is a critical healthcare-associated pathogen and WHO high-priority antimicrobial-resistant organism.
Each reaction well contains a complete lyophilised master mix including all primers, probes, and an internal control (IC) to monitor PCR inhibition — eliminating the need for separate reagent preparation. The kit is compatible with leading open-system real-time PCR thermal cyclers and uses the same thermal protocol across the VIASURE range, simplifying workflow in multi-assay laboratories.
Intended use: Detection of Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE), carrying vanA and/or vanB resistance genes from rectal swabs, urine, and wound specimens.
