Medium 199 with Hank’s Salts, with L-Glutamine

Capricorn Scientific Medium 199 with Hanks’ Salts, with L-Glutamine, was developed for the culture of primary explants. It is suitable for vaccine production, virology and other in vitro cell culture applications.

Medium 199 (M199 medium) with Hanks' Salts was developed in 1950 as a defined nutritional source for cell cultures. It is utilized for the cultivation of many cell types as well as vaccine production, virology, and other in vitro cell culture applications.

This formulation of Medium 199 is supplemented with L-glutamine and contains Hanks' salts for use without CO2 (0–2%). When supplemented correctly, Medium 199 has broad species applicability.
