Lonza IsoGel® Agarose is a standard melting temperature agarose specifically developed for isoelectric focusing (IEF) of proteins and separation of ampholytes. Unlike standard DNA-grade agarose, IsoGel® Agarose is formulated to be essentially free of charged groups that would otherwise interfere with the stable pH gradients required for successful IEF. Its very low electroendosmosis (EEO) eliminates convective disturbance of focused protein bands, providing sharp, reproducible results in IEF applications.
